GIANMARCO MASONI, Ed.D., J.D.
As kin:pathic’s strategic advisor, Gianmarco Masoni believes that neurodiversity can be viewed as a spectrum that includes everything from autism to Alzheimer’s. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2017 and since then has been on a journey to discover and help others find effective ways to tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities presented by the unique neurological differences that they face. He is immensely proud to be part of the kin:pathic mission of combining scientifically proven techniques and empathy to help families living with autism.

Previously, he served as the Dean of Innovation at The Derryfield School, where he helped lead the school’s efforts to innovate its pedagogy and culture of learning. Prior to that, he also developed curricula, designed learning platforms, and trained teachers at some of the top independent schools in Los Angeles and at the Center for Civic Education in Calabasas, CA.
He led two startups before kin:pathic. In 2011, he co-founded the education startup, Einztein.com, which partnered with Harvard and Stanford Universities and was recognized by SXSWedu and Fast Company for its groundbreaking innovation. In 1999, when the Internet was still nascent, he launched dScoop.com, a platform for sharing and viewing user generated videos that was an early version of YouTube.
Gianmarco earned his doctorate in educational leadership at the University of Southern California in 2015, specializing in STEM learning and educational psychology. He has a J.D. from Georgetown University and a B.A. from NYU, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Leading up to his career in education, he practiced law and served as VP of business affairs for Comerica Entertainment Group.
Born in Washington, D.C., to an American mother and Italian father, Gianmarco holds dual US and Italian citizenship and values multiculturalism. He enjoys writing as a hobby, and in 2005 he was awarded the prestigious Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
